Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.

Applications at the moment are open and will close on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must meet the subsequent criteria:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a house having a combined gross residence income that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined house income won't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not submit any evidence of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent residents from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to deliver the proper Identity Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected inside their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are researching or intend to study at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET nsfas status colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
